Universal qualities, those that extend beyond time and cultures, are what I look for in and around me. These are incorporated into my work, and are expressed in a variety of ways, both directly and subconsciously. In a successful piece, the observer will find a part of himself in the art. Something deep in his mind will say, “I know that place. It feels right.” I believe art is a physical expression of the soul and great art well touch the souls of generations.
